DAC Recognizes Newest Hall of Fame Inductees

Donegal Athletic Club was proud to recognize our 2023 Hall of Fame inductees during our induction ceremony on the evening of Friday, January 27.

This year’s newest Hall of Fame members are Samantha Houseal DiPerri ’07, Rachel Robinson Petersheim ’17, Bill Sprecher ’67, and the 1983-1984 boys basketball team.

Samantha Houseal DiPerri was recognized for her time playing field hockey, basketball, and softball. In field hockey, she earned three varsity letters, was the 2006 Lancaster-Lebanon league runner-up, and was a 2007 District III AA qualifier. Samantha earned three varsity letters for basketball, and four varsity letters for softball. While playing softball, she also won the 2006 LL League Section Three Championship, the 2006 District III AA Championship, the 2006 State AAA Championship, the 2007 District III AA Runner-Up, made the 2007 All-State Second Team, and was an LL League Section Three All-Star in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. In addition, Samantha won the Outstanding Athlete Award in 2007 and the A. Landis Brackbill Award in 2007.

Rachel Robinson Petersheim was also a decorated athlete during her time playing field hockey, basketball, and softball. While playing field hockey, Rachel earned four varsity letters and was on the All-State first team from 2014-2016, the Second Team All-American in 2015, the Third Team All-American in 2016, the LL League Section Three All-Star First Team from 2014-2017, and was a Lancaster-Lebanon League All-Star in 2015, 2016, and 2017. She was also the LL League Champion from 2015-2016, the District III Champion from 2014-2016, and the State Champion in 2016. In basketball, Rachel earned three varsity letters and was on the LL Section Three All-Star First Team from 2014-2015, and was on the LL Section Two All-Star First Team in 2017. She also won the Section Three Championship in 2014 and 2015, and she was a 1,000 point scorer. In softball, Rachel earned three varsity letters and won the 2017 State Championship, the 2015 LL League Championship, and the 2015-2016 District III Championship. She also played on the LL League Section Three All-Star First Team from 2015-2017, the LL League All-Star First Team in 2015, and the All-State Team in 2017. In addition, Rachel won the A. Landis Brackbill Award in 2017.

Bill Sprecher was recognized for his accomplishments in football, wrestling, and tennis, which included earning three varsity letters in each of those three sports. In football, Bill also made the Lancaster County All-Star First Team in 1966 and the Lancaster County All-Star Game in 1967. In wrestling, he was the LL League Runner-Up in 1967.

Finally, the 1983-1984 boys basketball team was recognized for their District III AA Championship and 20-7 overall record. The team was led by head coach Robert Freund, and by assistant coaches Bob Roaten and Tim Roaten. The members of the team were Jay Darkey, Wayne Emenheiser, Daryl Gerlach, Peter Hart, Greg Hitz, Tim Iseminger, Craig Johnson, Keith Mueller, George Rice, Chris Salvatore, Mike Sarbaugh, Mike Shelly, Scott Sipling, Andy Wagner, Mike Yohe, and Andy Zuch.

We are proud of all that our inductees accomplished, and we look forward to the bright future of our athletic programs.
